Peridot belongs to the Olivine family. It is thought to protect the lungs and the heart and to improve the immune system by stimulating the thymus gland. Moss Agate comes in several different shades ranging from green through red to black. Moss Agate is said to strenghten the bonds with nature and is thought to promote communication and understanding. The green 'moss' patterns are caused by manganese, hornblende and copper. The copper content is thought to make it beneficial to people suffering from rheumatism and arthritis. Moss Agate is said to be the lucky stone for gamblers.
